How many days to give it
One day is enough for the falls themselves — pickup, jeep safari, plantation lunch, drop-off, all in 8–10 hours. If you're already in Goa on a beach holiday, that's the honest answer.
Two days lets you pair Dudhsagar with the Tambdi Surla temple and a longer wander through Mollem. Three days opens up Cotigao sanctuary or Netravali to the south.
Sample 2-day itinerary
Day 1 — Dudhsagar & spice farm
- Morning hotel pickup (6–9 AM depending on your Goa location)
- Drive to Kulem via Ponda
- 4×4 jeep safari to the falls (10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at the base)
- Return to Kulem, drive to spice plantation for buffet lunch
- Old Goa Basilica stop on the drive back (time permitting)
- Hotel drop by evening
Day 2 — Mollem & Tambdi Surla
- Morning drive back into the sanctuary (self-drive or private taxi)
- Tambdi Surla Mahadev temple — a 12th-century basalt Shiva shrine
- Forest walk in Mollem — birds, giant squirrels, and one of two smaller waterfalls
- Lunch at Kulem or Mollem, drive back to Panaji or your beach
Where to stay
- Panaji / Fontainhas — best base if you want Portuguese-era Goa in the mornings and the falls one day
- North Goa (Calangute, Baga, Candolim) — most guests stay here; add ~30 min extra to pickup time
- South Goa (Colva, Benaulim, Cavelossim) — quieter beaches; slightly closer to Kulem than North Goa
- Ponda / Mollem eco-lodges — inside the sanctuary belt; good if you want to spend two days on treks and temples
Pre-trip packing
- Shoes with grip — the trail from jeep drop to plunge pool has wet rock
- Quick-dry clothes you don't mind getting sprayed on river crossings
- Full change of clothes in a plastic bag for the drive back
- Cap or hat, sunscreen, a small dry-bag for phone and wallet
- Basic meds, motion-sickness tablets for the jeep ride

If you can only pick one day for the falls, make it a weekday in November or January — dry weather, strong flow, and half the crowd of a weekend.
